Central, homely and unique are but a few ways to describe the eye-catching Old Joint Stock Pub and Theatre, in the heart of Birmingham City Centre just a short walk from Snow Hill station and New Street Station. Born originally as a library in 1862 then later a bank, this decadent and richly decorated…
Description
A Town and Gown and Old Joint Stock Co-Production.
Written by Lisa MacGregor.
A brand new dark comedy following the lives of two strangers thrown together by science, chance and a fish finger sandwich.
When Tabitha receives a liver transplant, she immediately writes to thank her donor family. With her letters left unanswered, she takes matters into her own hands, creating an algorithm to track down the family who saved her life. Will Tim return to sender, or is he ready to be delivered?
“…The Transplant Co-ordinator bloke said the family didn’t want to read them. And a part of me was relieved, cus I could write all this sh*t and know that no-one would actually see it. And then I thought, what if I found them myself… wouldn’t that be just so Stacey Dooley of me?”
First workshopped at The Arcola Theatre in 2019, Delivered explores life after transplant and the lengths we’ll go to protect our families, and ourselves, from the truth.
Delivered is the debut play from Actor/Writer Lisa MacGregor, and is inspired by her own family’s liver transplant journey.
This professional production is co-produced by the Town and Gown Theatre and Old Joint Stock Theatre.
